Landscapes of Colorado features contemporary Colorado artists whose work has been inspired by the natural beauty of the state. An extensive essay by Daley links the artists to the history of Colorado where for over a century painters and photographers have been attracted to the magnificent views and crisp, clear light.

Buff Elting offers a unique perspective to the landscape genre, inspired by personal experiences flying with her husband in their single-engine airplane (a Maule M-7). What began as flight lessons and just-plain-fun evolved into an ongoing creative journey as Elting fell in love with and documented the abstract beauty of the landscape from above. Inspiration is derived from a combination of memory, photographs and sketches.
